We are in France. I never thought our bus will take us that far… We had lots of trouble before we started our journey. I had to move my cat to another place which took me through half of Germany and after that we needed a rest. Driving more than 1000km in less than two days is not what I call fun. But when my Bebi was in her new home I felt much better, Bebi felt much better, we all felt much better and the journey could finally begin.
As I already wrote we travelled through the east of Germany to the Baltic Sea and further on to the North Sea. I really began to love Germany, I still do of course, but beeing on the road and seeing the world is still the best decision I have ever made. So we arrived the Netherlands. And against all clichés not every town there has Coffee Shops ;) We visited Groningen, which is a very young and colourful city. But our desire for nature was too strong and big citys cause stress for us, so we moved on to the wonderful dunes and heaths of the Netherlands where I fell in love with those furry little scottish highland cows. I even learned some Dutch and it is a wonder that I didn´t run over a cyclist. But the Netherlands are small and faster than expected we were out of the country and reached Belgium. For me there was no huge difference to the Netherlands to be honest, it´s just much more expensive. We were in Antwerpen and Brugge that are so different to each other, there couldn´t be any more difference. Antwerpen ist BIG, loud, crowded, consumtion everywhere, but also very interesting to see. Brugge in opposite is also big, but seems so small with its tiny alleys and old houses and little cafés and everything. Just the crowd of toursist was annoying, but what can I say, I was just tourist too. Belgium is even smaller than the Netherlands or so it seemed for us the way we were travelling and so we reached France. And with France there came fortune! Only after two days beeing here we found an abandoned property. It was called “Authie Ranch” because it was situated by a small river called Authie in the middle of nowhere. We stayed there for a while. The property was a mess. Nettles everywhere and even worse spiders everywhere! We built some small gateways, did some gardening and found loads of mint which gave everything that nice smell. In the evening we sat by the fire of our selfmade fireplace and cooked our meals. Unfortunatley we ran out of gas, so the we were lucky to have a place to cook. We nearly stayed, but it didn´t went unnoticed that the property was occupied and more and more people came to ask if they could buy it from us. We had a wonderful time at Authie Ranch, but it was time to leave and move on. We went to Montville and further to Neubourgh and came to a rest in Évreux…
Next week I have to go back to Germany for a couple of days for some reasons and I am looking forward to come back to my homeland… But I also cannot wait to come back to France. I have to improve my language skills, I have to admit, but its getting better and better with every day I have to survive here ;) Learning by doing, so to speak. I have made 1000000 of picures, but I always forget to bring my camera. Next time there will be less nonsense and more to look at…
Up to that time…bon courage et bon soiree xox
We are on the road in our little bus. Living a free live, beeing a free spirit! We have seen a lot and have found wonderful places. At the moment we are at the coast of Germany, North Sea. I am living a very natural life, living in the nature, with the nature, surroundet by nature…a simple life and I don´t miss anything (well, my cat…so I have to touch every cat that crosses my path…poor cats;)) I never thought Germany is such a nice country. Sometimes you don´t appreciate your own country, but if you take a deeper look you can see that it can be the most beautiful place to be. Anyway…the rest of the world is waiting and there is so much more to see and to eat ;) (and cats to touch)
Soon we will arrive the Netherlands. Even though Germany showed us beautiful places, I can´t wait to leave it and see the rest fo the world. I am looking forward to our upcoming adventures, the people (and cats) we meet and the pretty little secret places we will find….
Pictures coming soon… ;)
